The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation has recently published its yearly mapping report EU Research and Innovation for and with Cities that provides an overview of the main EU Research and Innovation actions to help cities accelerate their transition towards sustainability and climate neutrality. The report describes city actions, initiatives, platforms and networks funded under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme and presents policy priorities and future trends under Horizon Europe. A large number of projects working on sustainable urban development are showcased in this publication.
The report also covers EU international cooperation on cities through different programmes and presents some examples on how the EU contributes to urban topics at a global scale by collaborating with United Nations actions.
