The city of Torino in northern Italy has been announced as the next host of the EU Cities Mission conference on 28-29 May 2026.
The programme is expected, however, to begin on 27 May with sessions outside of the main conference venue. More information will follow soon and we recommend that attendees await this before making travel plans.
Torino – one of 112 aiming to reach climate neutrality before 2030 – will welcome hundreds of counterparts across Europe, as well as representatives from European political and financial institutions, business, climate organisations and other experts.
This dynamic annual event of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities is an unmatched opportunity for learning and cooperation, given the Cities Mission’s vast network of expertise and experience drawn from across and beyond the EU.
Attendees can expect:
- High-value workshops and discussions led by cities and city experts
- Interaction with senior figures from European political and financial institutions
- Engaging and motivating plenaries and local site visits
- Significant networking opportunities including chances to explore potential future partnerships

Development of the conference programme will be led by NetZeroCities, (which manages the Mission platform) alongside the city of Torino and the European Commission, and more information will follow in the coming months.

Mayor of Torino Stefano Lo Russo said:
Torino is deeply committed to the transition towards climate neutrality and hosting the Cities Mission Conference 2026 represents for us a unique opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between European cities that share the same vision.
Being one of the Mission Cities is an important recognition, but also a responsibility: this is why we want Torino to be a place of concrete discussions, exchange of good practices and building strategic alliances.
We firmly believe that only through collaboration between cities and the support of the European Union we can achieve ambitious and, today more than ever, necessary common goals.
