Three calls opening in 2023 to support the Climate-neutral and Smart Cities Mission

Three calls will open under Horizon Europe in 2023 to support cities in their journey towards climate neutrality in the context of the Climate-neutral and Smart Cities Mission. The calls will cover a wide range of topics, such as as zero-emission mobility, positive clean energy districts, urban greening and re-naturing, as well as associating Ukrainian cities to the EU Cities Mission. The European Commission announces the 100 selected cities to join the Cities Mission

Today, the European Commission published the list of the 100 EU cities that have been selected to be part of the EU Mission for 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030, also known as the Cities Mission. The designated cities come from all 27 EU countries, with 12 additional cities coming from countries associated or with the potential of being associated to Horizon Europe. These cities were selected from among 362 eligible cities that expressed an interest in becoming climate-neutral by 2030. NetZeroCities at the High-level Conference on Civic Engagement in the EU Missions

On 21 March 2022 the NetZeroCities team was present at the High-level Conference on Civic Engagement in the EU Missions that took place at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council in Paris and online. The conference was dedicated to the newly launched EU Missions that aim to tackle some of the main challenges we are facing today: adapting to climate change, beating cancer, restoring oceans and waters, living in climate-neutral and smart cities, and ensuring soils’ health.
