Podcast – Path to zero: City stories

How cities are turning climate goals into everyday action.

Path to Zero: City Stories explores how cities across Europe are moving beyond climate plans and targets and into action.

Through this podcast, we look at what climate neutrality means in practice: for local governments, for city leaders, and for the people who live and work in these places. The focus is not only on where cities want to go, but on how they get there, step by step.

Since 2022, 112 cities have formally committed to the EU’s Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, aiming to reach climate neutrality by 2030. Many more are following the same direction, each shaped by their own context, constraints, and priorities.

There is no single pathway to climate neutrality.
This series brings together different city experiences to show how diverse routes, decisions, and local realities shape the transition — and what others can learn from them.
