The 2025 Cities Mission Conference

The fourth edition of the Cities Mission Conference 2025 was held in Vilnius, Lithuania on 6-8 May 2025 with the theme “Harnessing City Successes: Advancing Climate Action for 2030”, to spotlight the progress and ambition of Mission Cities and their partners as they strive to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. The EU Green Capital 2025 welcomed invitation-only attendees to the event. Organised by the European Commission and the Mission Platform, the conference brought together political representatives and city practitioners to celebrate the Mission’s considerable progress after three years, share achievements and experiences, and inspire all those as they continue their hard work towards climate neutrality.

The conference, hosted at LITEXPO in Vilnius, featured a diverse line-up of speakers, each bringing unique experiences and expertise to your climate neutrality journey across the three-day programme.

What’s in it for participants?

The Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission Conference returned for a fourth edition in May 2025. This flagship gathering engaged a diverse audience of city practitioners, political leaders, industry innovators, financial experts, civil society representatives, and European Commission officials. The event featured dynamic formats, including keynote addresses, interactive workshops, high-level political dialogues, and site visits, ensuring engaging and impactful discussions.  

Over the three days, on 6-8 May 2025, it provided an essential space for the fundamental knowledge sharing, capacity building, and face-to-face collaboration needed between cities, the EU institutions, and NetZeroCities for the work that lies ahead for a climate-neutral future.
